Featuring Adekunle Gold, Ice Prince and Runtown among others, Walshy Fire’s debut project is a culture fest

Last year when Major Lazer highlighted Nigeria and other countries in Africa before and after the release of their stellar all star mixtape, Afrobeats (DJ Mix), the general consensus was that the project was the icing on the cake for the group but when Walshy Fire, 1/3 of the group began to pick out some of Nigeria’s finest in bits and pieces for memorable singles this year, we began to see the trip in a different light. The highlight of his collaborations with the likes of Adekunle Gold, Mr Eazi, Ice Prince and Runtown came this month in another stellar compilation of 11-tracks titled Abeng designed to soundtrack your summer irregardless of language or orientation.

Not only is the 11-track project a ray of sunshine in lyrics and sound, it’s a culture fest that explores the beauty of a variety of cultures across Africa in sound and language.

Featuring A-listers from the five major regions of Africa, Walshy Fire pushes his intent to bring people together under the umbrella of music that will make you laugh, dance and want to get lost in the sound.
