Watch The Trailer for Biodun Stephen’s “Hotel Labamba”

Renowned Nigerian filmmaker Biodun Stephen is set to release comedy crime thriller Hotel Labamba across the cinemas. Written by Frances Okeke and executively produced by Laide Daramola, the movie stars Bimbo Ademoye, Blessing Jessica Obasi-Nze, Lateeef Adedimeji, Femi Adebayo, Bolaji Ogunmola, Kachi Nnochiri, Lilian Afegbai, among others. 

Biodun Stephen has an impressive resume as one of Nigeria’s celebrated producers and directors of the current generation, with her specialty being romantic and comedy productions. To her credit are The Visit, Looking for Baami, Smokescreen, Tiwa’s Baggage, Helpmate, Exit Plan, The Wildflower, Strangers and A Simple Lie, among others, as she continues to make her mark felt in the industry. Her 2015 movie The Visit was a nominee at the 2016  African Movie Academy Awards, while Strangers (2021) was Grand Jury Prize Winner (2022) in the Best Feature Film Category. She also got nominated as Best Director of a Narrative Feature at the 2019 Festival Award for her efforts in Last Days (2019).

Hotel Labamba follows the mysterious murder of a popular social media influencer in the titular hotel and investigative attempts to solve the case.

With its official release date yet to be announced, the movie is set for media screening on April 27, 2023.
