The Nigerian music industry moves in waves. Once upon a time pon pon was the go-to sound, today, while it’s on the back-end, the Shaku wave is still the hottest thing yet. With tracks like Legbegbe, Omo Shepeteri, Wo and Science Student, the subgenre has thrust new artists onto the scene while some of our more traditional names have hopped on the wave. Wavy The Creator is the latest artist who jumps on the sound but does so in the unconventional and different kind of fashion you should expect from her by now.
