Nigerians never like to leave anything good as it is. We always go for a part two if it’s a movie or remixes if it’s a track and that same mindset is being applied to Nollywood’s highest grossing movie, The Wedding Party.
At the end of March, the Wedding Party was still showing in cinemas despite being premiered back in November 2016. The movie which featured the likes of Adesua Etomi, Banky W, Sola Sobowale and Ali Baba was directed by Kemi Adetiba tapped into Nigeria’s love for weddings and was made available on Netflix recently.
It is being reported that the second movie which will be shot in Dubai will tell the story of Nonso (Enyinna Nwigwe) and Deirdre (Daniella Down) who get married after Nonso proposes in error. Similarly, Deirdre’s family opposes the wedding however nothing can stop a girl in love.
Hopefully, the sequel isn’t tagged Wedding Party Part 2 and does as well as the original movie.
