From the makers of Mummy Dearest, Switch and Baby Steps comes a new and refreshing romantic comedy, Daddy’s Love. It is a new installment in producer WIllis Ikedum’s hit family drama franchise. The movie synopsis reads: “The bond between a widowed father and his daughter is tested when life sends new love their way.”
Debuting on 1st of October, 2024 on Africa Magic Family, Daddy’s Love tells the story of a widowed father who gives out his only child’s hand in marriage to a well-meaning young man, but refuses to let go completely. The young man is now faced with the challenge of making room for another man, his father-in-law, in his marital home, following a string of long and unwanted visits by his father-in-law. Daddy’s Love is a sensitive yet comical exploration of what happens when marriage comes and two cannot independently become one flesh.
With BBN star, Liquorose playing the beloved daughter and only child, Becky; veteran favorite, Jibola Dabo as the protective widowed father Selle; and newcomer, Osakue Izevbigie as the long-suffering son-in-law, Mina, this film explores themes of dedication, sacrifice and love. It is also Liquorose’s first lead role. Shot on location in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, with all local crew and cast, Daddy’s Love is written and directed by Willis Ikedum, with Oge Lawrence credited as line producer.
