Wizkid’s Influence Pervades Ceeza Milli, Spotless and Terri’s ‘Soco’ Verses

The suggestion that Nigeria’s stars create their best music when they’re most comfortable is proving itself to be true yet again. After Davido’s less than inspiring 2016 run, he pulled back and returned to the basics on his way to his most successful year so far. While it’d be corny if Wizkid came around using terms that suggested he was doing the same despite the new found love, the suggestion that he shall release a project called ‘Made in Lagos‘ later this year following exploration in the last 12 months is all you need to see that he is taking the same approach his counterpart did as we kicked off 2017. Soco, the second venture on the path to return to his comfort zone but the first release off the upcoming Made in Lagos EP by the Starboy family sees Wiz recruit an army in Ceeza Milli, Spotless and Terri for Afropop at its finest.

As one of the biggest artists in Africa, it’s no surprise that Wizkid has inspired a generation of artists and really Soco is all the proof you need as you hear three artists who are evidently heavily influenced by Wiz who takes control of the chorus.
