In the past couple of days, the Wizkid – Davido conversations have spiked as award season has come around and the Big Two continue to split the accolades and subliminally address one another. Neither of them are talking without putting out material though and last night, Wizkid released Manya featuring Mutay of Legendury Beatz.
One who has never been shy to sample the greats as shown by the fact that he’s sampled the likes of Fela (on Jaiye Jaiye), Bob Marley (on Naughty Ride) and Beenie Man (on Final/ Baba Nla) Wiz adds Ghanaian group, VVIP to the long list of acts he has sampled with Manya. On the record he heavily samples 2005 classic, Ahomka Wemu on the hook as he invites a love interest to come have a good time. With credits on the track but no clear vocals, it is possible that some of the writing may have been done by Mutay as well as some of the direction on the production however, Killbeats is credited as the effort’s sole producer.
