Nigerian AfroSoul singer and songwriter, WurlD has just released his fifth project and latest EP, Don’t Get Used To This. The project is an emotive body of work that explores WurlD’s storytelling and passion, blending Afrobeats, Amapiano, and R&B /Soul. A creative visionary, he explores love as the major theme, taking on the EP, solo without any artist features.

The eight-track EP is a follow-up to his 2022 Album, My WurlD With U, which featured a crop of the best talents in the industry, including Dami Oniru, Sarz, and Major League Djz amongst others. In this new project, WurlD pushes his creative boundaries, emphasizing his ability to create catchy hooks in songs like Do It and Sare flaunting his sultry, sonorous vocals, through the tracks. He also highlights passion, romance, and intimacy, which are popular themes in his previous projects.

Shake, the EP’s teaser, produced by Anne “ Ketta” Telstra and Moussa, is a trip outside his AfroSoul sound, blending stems of South Africa’s leading sound, Amapiano, and heavy Afrobeats percussion basslines. Don’t Get Used To This is a love project centered on embracing the present moment,” WurlD says, describing the need to immerse oneself in the reality of emotions and experiences as they occur. Inspired by life’s uncertainty, he wants his audience to “Enjoy these sounds, but don’t get used to it.”

This project is his first under his new label, Addictive Content, an incubator/spotlight platform designed to help young, talented up-and-coming creatives discover and exploit opportunities, providing them a spot with the next generation of talents out of Africa. This label is a collaborative effort with his brother and ace fashion designer, Muktar Onifade.
