Y.M.K Sama Juxtaposes The Nigerian Dream And It’s Nightmarish Reality On ‘Canada’

Yimika Owoaje also known as Y.M.K Sama, like many Nigerians, has his mind set on moving beyond the constricting confines of Nigeria. His latest, Canada is a mellow take on this that juxtaposes the peace dreaming brings and the harsh reality of survival in Nigeria.

With vocal contributions from Eri Ife and D.T.O, he paints a vivid picture of the Nigerian Dream or Nightmare, as it’s turning out to be these days. Over a smooth soundscape put together by Biodun The Sage, Owoaje delivers a rap storytelling masterclass with lyrics that encompass the struggles of the average Nigerian man. The song title is a nod to a country that has become home to Nigerians who are fortunate enough to make it out.
