To start off 2019 and his new phase as a record label owner, rapper and songwriter Ycee has released a new single, Balance. After a seemingly impressive era of Afro-fusion Hip-Hop, Balance sees Ycee going back to his purely rap roots that earned him his stripes in the Nigerian music scene.
The rapper gave a glimpse of his rap come back with his feature on Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones’ single Gwala last year.
Following M.I. Abaga’s controversial number You Rappers Should Fix Up Your Lives, the artist was at the forefront of a lot of the conversation regarding the market for rap in Nigeria and the inevitable transition from rapping to singing.
