The traditional structure of the Nigerian music industry is being reshaped by artists with exquisite taste and non-conforming values, all of whom are now coming together to attack its shortcomings as a force. Following the release of Low Profile, featuring Yomi Ace and UK-based Steffani Milan, YouthsHub, a youth empowerment social platform regroups on Ojoro, a single off their upcoming collaborative project.

Powered by Mide Michael and Naya Akanji, industry neophytes with the wits and talent about them, Ojoro, is a track about love with their individual narratives centered around the artists’ respective love interests. The infectious hook captures the essence of their stories by describing in pidgin how they would not fail to retaliate if their significant others are caught cheating.

Mide Michael delivers the first verse, giving Naya enough room to execute their intention and finish perfectly. Together, they create a distinctive afro indie-jazz love ballad, with Lordknowz and Jinmi Abdul’s production entwining these genres.
