First Look of Bisola Aiyeola in Kayode Kasum’s ‘This Lady Called Life’

Kayode Kasum has released the first trailer for This Lady Called Life, one of his upcoming releases for 2020. The film sees Kasum return to the conscious storytelling of the underseen Oga Bolaji, a character study of a 40-year-old man still living with his mother.

“I am excited for 2020, I have always wanted to make a film that is close to Oga Bolaji, but better and I think we created it,” he wrote about the movie on Instagram. “The Lady Called Life is stunning. I am thankful to my collaborators and friends who made this possible.”

A woman’s worth! At some point in our lives, we all try to find our way through the darkness, and when we do, we light the path for others

This Lady Called Life, which reunites him with Sugar Rush star Bisola Aiyeola, follows Aiye, a young struggling single mother, whose greatest desire is to become a chef. Much like Oga Bolaji, life has been unfair to Aiyeola, her family has abandoned her and her kid. She must fight against all odds to achieve her dreams of becoming a chef.

Toluwani Obayan writes the screenplay from a story by Kasum, who produces alongside Bisola Yusuf. This Lady Called Life stars Efa Iwara, Tina Mba, Jemima Osunde, Paul Etomi, Lota Chukwu, Wale Ojo, Michael Ejoor and Asaah Samuel. There is no information on the release date yet, but you can watch the first trailer below.
