Olawumi Recalls Jumping Out of a Flawed Relationship On 'My Fault'

The idea that it’s imperative women stay in relationships that don’t work for them is one that was more pronounced in the past. With feminism, more women have come to understand that they too hold power and need not stay in something that’s broken or not quite good enough for them. New Jersey based singer, Olawumi’s latest offering My Fault, revolves around the theme of jumping off the ship if its not built to specification.

The RnB effort which serves as a single for Moody, her upcoming body of work sees Olawumi go from processing the shortcomings of her relationship and initially trying to work things to beginning to see it for what it is, a relationship she shouldn’t be in. She then takes matters into her hands and decides enough is enough as she takes the blame for even finding herself in that situation in the first place.
