4th Republic: Aedan Asika Takes Us Through His Life in Politics

Posted on

When he had barely finished secondary school, Aedan Asika started interning in the office of Bukola Saraki, the former president of the Nigerian senate and an ex-governor of Kwara State.

Asika would go on to work closely with the former senate president as his executive assistant for many years, during which he gleaned close-up perspectives and insights about both his boss and the Nigerian political weather.

In the latest 4th Republic episode, where he is interviewed by The Culture Custodian’s editor-in-chief Oluwamayowa Idowu, Asika lays bare those insights. He not only relays catchy and insightful anecdotes about how he became more invested in politics but also explains, among other things, how the ex-Kwara governor was influential in forming the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The 4th Republic is a podcast series hosted by The Culture Custodian which considers the most important personalities and events in the Nigerian political sphere since the country’s fourth republic in 1999.
