Burnaboy’s last project, The Twice as Tall album, won the Grammy category for the best global Music album in 2021. Since then, he has been on a roll by getting major features with top international artists as well as indigenous artists. Here is a list of five impressive features Burnaboy has done since he dropped his last body of work:
Released on the 13th of July 2021, South African DJ Tarico teams up with Burnaboy in the remix of Yaba buluku. This song infuses the Amapiano sounds with Afrobeats. Burna boy adds some Yoruba street style to the already South African sound. The song gives a party vibe and according to a fan on social media, ‘”I would easily beat up any DJ that doesn’t play Yaba buluku in my party.” This song currently has 2 million views on Youtube and 38 million views for all tags that bear its name.
Ginger was released from the Made in Lagos Album on the 30th of October, 2020 and it has easily become one of the top-performing songs on the Album. Burnaboy, who has been seen hanging out with Wizkid recently, exuded great energy on this track. Ginger is that tune that makes you just want to stand up and vibe, wine glass in hands without worries. It currently has over 21 million views on Youtube.
Canadian multiple award-winning singer, Justin Bieber, features Burnaboy on his Justice Album which was released on the 19th of March 2021. In this song, Bieber does his Pop R&B thing and Burna boy adds his African Giant touch to make it a little bit Afro R&B. This song currently has 220,144 shazams and over 6 million views on Youtube. It is no surprise that it is one of the most played songs on the album.
Released on the 24th of June 2021, British Vincentian rapper Mist features Burnaboy in his song, Rollin’. This track, which currently has 1.9 million views on Youtube, is a dancehall song. Burnaboy, known for mixing dancehall with afro-beats, glides through and makes it a tune that is pleasing the ears.
Grammy award winner Angelique Kidjo is known for her collaboration with various top artists and her unique blend of different genres of music. The song Do yourself featuring Burnaboy was produced by Rexxie and released on the 18th of June 2021 from the Mother nature album. Just like the name of the album implies, the song idolizes the Motherland, Africa in their different dialects. We can easily say this is a wonderful single from two Grammy award-winning powerhouses.
