Episode 3 of Mix With Orijin gave us another round of flavour, chaos, comedy, and chemistry between Basketmouth and Lara Rawa – and this one came with a cocktail that stole the show. Here are the standout moments that made the episode the perfect blend of sweet, refreshing, and downright Orijinal.
When Lara Introduced the “Orijin Melon Smash” – and Basketmouth Tried to Figure It Out
The episode took an exciting turn when Lara proudly unveiled her star creation: the Orijin Melon Smash. Basketmouth repeated the name like he was trying to crack a code, eyebrows raised, brain calculating. His confusion set the perfect tone for another chaotic mixology adventure – and we knew we were in for a ride.
“No Ice, No Cocktail” – Basketmouth Drops His First Rule
Before anything else, Lara reached for the ice. Basketmouth immediately jumped in like a man who has strong cocktail principles: A cocktail without ice? Impossible. Lara agreed without debate. Ice isn’t just ice – it’s what keeps the drink cold, crisp, and balanced. It’s also what separates a cocktail from a sad liquid in a glass.
Watermelon, Honey, and a Generous Pour of Orijin
Next came the flavour-building. Lara added: 50ml watermelon juice, 10ml honey syrup, a splash of lime and of course, Orijin Bitters, the true star of the story The moment the Orijin went in, the energy changed. Basketmouth leaned in like he had just witnessed the arrival of a main character. Balanced, bright, fruity, and bold – the cocktail spelt a good kind of trouble.
Lara’s Shake, Basketmouth’s Commentary
Then came the shake. Lara went to work, giving the shaker a clean, confident mix to make sure the honey blended smoothly. Basketmouth watched like a judge on a cooking show – focused, amused, and probably wondering if he should try the shake himself. He didn’t, but he did enjoy the show.
Pink Glitter, Edible Flowers, and a Sip That Sealed the Deal
When the cocktail finally landed in a glass decorated with pink glitter and an edible flower, Basketmouth froze for a second, in admiration. One sip later, and he was sold. Sweet. Refreshing. Full of personality. The Orijin Melon Smash delivered everything its name promised.
Lara closed the episode with a fun fact that had Basketmouth wide-eyed: every part of a watermelon is edible – including the rind and seeds. Who knew Mix With Orijin doubled as a science lesson?
