It’s going down at 7pm at Freedom Park this Friday and Saturday, the 26th and 27th of February 2016 as the poet, Donna presents a Poedio production titled, Love Like Slave.
Love Like Slave takes us into the world of artists and their love-hate relationship with art, the creative processes and how the artist is but a vessel which sometimes eventually give in to his or her calling. It is a 5 scene performance in poetry, song, dance and painting expressing how artists are compelled to perform art, regardless of will. The performance at Freedom Park (a former prison) expresses a metaphor of the artist being bound to art.
The performance is produced by Donna Shodipo and directed by Nabila Lester and supported by Lagos Theatre Festival and British Council.
