This program is part of Culture Custodian’s three-part campaign celebrating women redefining African media today and investing in the next generation of industry leaders. It pairs ambitious young women with some of the most experienced and accomplished women in the media industry. Through personalized guidance, practical advice, and real-world insights, mentees will gain invaluable knowledge to help shape their professional journey.

Meet the Mentors

We’ve carefully curated a roster of mentors who have made significant strides across various media sectors, including audio, print, TV, digital, and media leadership. Some of the mentors include Kadaria Ahmed, Managing Director at Radio Now 95.3 FM, Motunrayo Alaka, Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer at Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism, Jola Ayeye, Co-host of I Said What I Said Podcast and Aisha Salaudeen, Head of Production at Vistanium and Managing Editor at Paystack. Each mentor brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to nurturing emerging talent.

Requirements 

To be considered for this mentorship program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Identify as a woman working in or aspiring to work in the media industry
• Have 1-3 years of professional experience or demonstrated passion for media
• Be committed to engaging fully over the 90-day program
• Be curious, open to feedback and eager to grow
