Adekunle Gold and Simi are gunning for relevance as the Nigerian music industry’s next Jay-Z and Beyoncé, with the recent onslaught of PDA that has come out of their camp. As immensely satisfying as Adekunle Gold’s partnership with American singer, Lucky Daye, was, the former doubles down on the favorable feedback received from the delightful duet, Sinner, with a video, starring himself and his wife, that does a great job of bringing his steamy lyrics to life.
In a minimalistic video rife with earthy tones that match Gold’s new aesthetic, the fan-favorite couple offer viewers several peeks into what appears to be their daily life, with direction from Magdalena Wosinska.
The video is captured in the same taste as their usual displays of affection in the media: playful yet serious, relatable yet special. While the chemistry the couple shares takes center stage, his chemistry with Lucky Daye is the secondary attraction, as that comes up right before the curtains close on the video.
