Afropop sensation, Adekunle Gold has unveiled his NPR Music Tiny Desk performance.

This release coincides with the first stop of his 19-city US and Canada tour in Boston today and kicks off NPR Music’s “Black Music Month.” The phenomenal performance was filmed in a retro, faux airport terminal located somewhere in Los Angeles with Adekunle Gold performing live versions of hit songs from his most recent album Catch Me If You Can and his 2020 album Afropop Vol. 1.

In his most recent performance, Adekunle Gold accompanies his soulfully enchanting renditions with a dynamic life band, showcasing his exceptional style and world class vocals. This performance serves as a marker of his evolution into a full-fledged, international music star as he joins the likes of icons like Alicia Keys, Harry Styles, Coldplay and Anderson Paak, who have also thrilled their fans with stellar NPR Music Tiny Desk Stage performances.

Speaking on his NPR Tiny Desk performance, Adekunle Gold expressed:

Music is my life, music has allowed me to communicate and music has shown me that there truly is no limit to creativity. I hope that as we celebrate Black Music Month, Black people in all our varieties of descent realise that there are no boundaries to what we can achieve and create. I hope that we truly see ourselves as the magical creators that we are. Thank you NPR and Tiny Desk for allowing me to create.

Adekunle Gold had earlier released his new album Catch Me If You Can, which featured collaborations with an array of global talent including Ty Dolla $ign, Stefflon Don, Fatoumata Diawara, and Fousheé. The album also contained the hit singles It Is What It Is, Sinner ft. Lucky Daye, High ft Davido and Mercy.
