Popular Ibadan businessman and the Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land, Alhaji Arisekola Alao passed away on the 17th of June.
The 69 year old religious leader passed away at his London home, on the same day he was expected back in Nigeria.
Alao, who is the Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Nigeria was said to have not shown any sign of ill health, although he was said to have embarked on the journey on medical grounds.
The Oyo state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi has called for 7 days of mourning in the state.
