Written and composed by Nezsa, produced by Denzl (BNXN, Papi Ojo), and engineered by Mariano Bilinkis (KHEA, Emilia Mernes, Nicki Nicole), Should Have Cared is a neo-soul masterpiece from the Nigerian rising star, driven by her sultry and enchanting vocals, lush and layered melodies, and vivid storytelling. The track is brought further to life by its immaculate soundscape; from the captivating drum and bass patterns and the minimalist violin arrangements to the saxophone section.
Should Have Cared sees Nezsa continuing to explore the themes of love and relationships that will manifest all over her upcoming album To All The Heartbreakers, as the title suggests. After she asks for care on the fragile Break, then confronts a toxic ex-lover on her last single Trouble, Nezsa is in a much more reflective mood on Should Have Cared as she goes through an internal battle of healing from the past, and opens up about regret and heartbreak from a previous relationship.
