Asake Performs “Terminator” On Genius’ Open Mic Series

On the latest episode of their ‘Open Mic’ YouTube series, Genius, which describes itself as the world’s biggest collection of song lyrics and musical knowledge, had Asake stop by their studio to perform his latest hit single Terminator, which has been streamed over ten million times on Spotify to date. Terminator was produced by Magicsticks and is off Asake’s latest album Mr. Money Money With The Vibe.

The almost 3-minute performance features Asake in a all black attire that embraces the “Terminator” energy, and gives you a look at Asake’s true talent for singing as well as serves as a refreshing version of the popular Terminator single. Although it was a short performance, you can tell that Asake is all about the music with the ease and vibe of his delivery. 

Launched in 2019, Genius’ ‘Open Mic’ series has featured other Nigerian artists like Tems, Omah Lay, and CKay. Omah Lay and Tems’ features on the Open Mic series were back in 2021 when Omah Lay performed his smash hit single Godly off his What Have We Done EP and Tems performed Higher off her For Broken Ears EP. CKay’s appearance on the Open Mic series was in June when he performed the hit record Love Nwantiti.
