The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the gubernatorial election of Kogi inconclusive stating that the leading margin of the projected winner is below the number of registered voters in polling units cancelled in the election.

Based on the results that had been released at Local Government level, APC’s Abubakar Audu held a lead over PDP’s Idris Wada in the Kogi Governorship Elections.

Audu has contested in all of the Governorship Elections within the state since its creation twenty-four years ago and this years elections were rather peaceful. According to This Day, results released from Kogi West senatorial district show that the APC candidate won six LGAs as against one won by the PDP candidate. In Kogi East, Audu also trounced Wada by winning six out of the nine LGAs while in Kogi Central he beat his PDP rival by winning three out of the five LGAs.

More information will follow regarding announcements from the INEC.
