An issue that typically comes out of plying the family route is the comparison that’s inescapable. For B Red and Sina Rambo, they’ve always been seen as Davido’s cousins as opposed to recording artists in their own light. Their presence on HKN Music, as their cousin broke out further blurred the lines and inevitably dimmed their shine as they failed to establish their own images. In the past year however, B Red has taken important steps in his career that like him or not, you need to appreciate. With Davido turning his focus towards DMW, B Red has gotten the opportunity to take centre stage and begin writing his own story. With tracks like Fall For You, Finally and Uju in 2017 as well as a university tour, the singer had arguably his best year since he began creating music. Early signs suggest he’s trying to maintain that energy as he releases Connect featuring Tiwa Savage to open 2018.
On the afro-pop track, B Red goes after a love interest and makes promises while Tiwa Savage comes in and assumes the role of the the woman B Red is after.
