Biodun Stephen’s “Small Talk” Will Hit Nigerian Cinemas This November

Renowned Nigerian filmmaker and director Biodun Stephen has a forthcoming film titled Small Talk, which will be available across Nigerian cinemas from October 27, 2023. The latest project is courtesy of a collaboration between FilmOne Studios, Inkblot Productions and Biodun Stephen’s ShutterSpeed Projects.

A story created and directed by Biodun Stephen, and produced by Glory Obichukwu, the cast list of Small Talk includes first-time lead actor Adebowale Adedayo (Mr Macaroni), Lasisi Elenu, Moet Abebe, Blessing Nze, Ajayi Akorede, Greg Ojefua, Michael John, Mofe Okorodudu, Lizzy Jay, Taye Arimoro, and Moet Abebe. Executive producers of the film are  Kene Okwuosa, Moses Babatope, Craig Shurn, Biodun Stephen, Naz Onuzo, Zulumoke Oyibo, and Damola Ademola.

Biodun Stephen’s Small Talk is coming after the filmmaker’s release of Big Love, Hotel Labamba and Sista months ago. Her latest  project is set in Nigeria and will be distributed by production powerhouse FilmOne Studios. 

Known for her specialization in romantic drama and comedy films, Biodun Stephen rose to the spotlight in 2015 following the release of comedy thriller film The Visit. Her filmic oeuvre   includes Glimpse (2016), Tiwa’s Baggage (2017), Ehi’s Bitters (2018), Looking for Baami (2019) and Breaded Life (2021), all of which she wrote, produced and directed. Also part of her works are Picture Perfect (2016), Ovy’s Voice (2017), Progressive Tailors Club (2021) and Aki and Pawpaw (2022), which she either wrote, produced or directed. Her efforts have been appreciated with laurels and accolades, the most recent being her Best Writer Award for Introducing the Kujus (2020) at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). 

Small Talk comes to the big screens this October as anticipation keeps brewing for an exciting watch.
