Blaqbonez’s Sex Over Love album is looming on the horizon and as its release date draws nearer, he puts more effort into paving a bump-less path to the project. The bawdy BBC was his first big step followed by a Tiwa Savage assisted remix that reverberated with his sensual intent for the project. Today, he’s joined by Amaarae and Buju on Bling, both of whom serve as just enough indication of the extent to which he will be taking his salaciousness on the project.
As usual and in line with the album’s theme, Blaqbonez is unafraid to go to lengths with his words, the rush of snares produced by Type A, that kicks things off doesn’t quite prepare us for his barrage or Amaarae’s silky inflections or Buju’s mesmeric take on confidence driven allure. Despite the difference in the sonic paths they’re on, the trio makes Bling a rousing experience powered by their charm, vocals, and synergy.
With Bling added to the lineup, Sex Over Love is proving to be the encompassing experience Blaqbonez has promised it will be.
