BNXN first premiered In My Mind as A Colors Show on the 22nd of August, before going on to release his sophomore EP Bad Since ‘97 2 days later. Since its release, In My Mind has proven to be one of the better performing songs commercially from the EP and it now joins Bad Since ‘97 (the first song in the EP with the same name) as the only songs off the new EP to have music video releases.
For the new In My Mind video, BNXN taps one of the hottest film directors in the UK, Troy Roscoe, who is also responsible for Burna Boy’s For My Hand and It’s Plenty visuals. BNXN gave us a first look at the new In My Mind video on the 3rd of October when he shared a 20 second clip on his Instagram account which he used to build some anticipation for the video’s release.
Commenting on the In My Mind video, Troy Roscoe shared on his Instagram that he has had In My Mind on non-stop repeat ever since BNXN’s manager (@bayarnoflagos) sent the track to him. “For the visual we created something simple but beautiful. Two contrasting worlds, two perspectives. One toxic and dark, one picturesque and beautiful,” he shared.
The 2 and a half minute video features two distinct scenes that complement each other and tell a compelling visual narrative. It also has interesting transitions and a blend of colours that is sure to catch your eyes. Troy Roscoe who is a fast rising player on the film directing scene in the UK manages to keep cementing his name in the game and BNXN’s In My Mind video is all the proof you need.
