As he builds up to his debut EP Rare Gem, rising Port-Harcourt bred Afro-Fusion star Ninety, releases his latest single Piano, following on the release and success of debut and sophomore singles Touch & Follow and Somebody earlier this year. Piano is a melodious mid-tempo Afrobeats record that expresses the extent to which Ninety’s love interest’s aura controls him, with him also using the piano as a metaphor for how he wants her to treat him.
Produced by Type A, who also produced Blaqbonez’s Bling ft. Amaarae & Buju, which peaked at number 1 on the Apple Music Top 100: Nigeria chart. Ninety is poised to join Omah Lay and Ajebo Hustlers, as the new wave of music talents from Port-Harcourt, a city that has produced some of the industry’s biggest hitmakers like Burna Boy, Timaya and Duncan Mighty.
Building anticipation for Ninety’s debut project, Rare Gem, Piano bolsters himself as an artist intent on creating value for his fans with a free NFT drop for some of his fans. This drop will feature the original cover art of the single, shot by the famed Kelechi Amadi Obi, and will act as a genesis token to Ninety’s steady growing community. This is an acknowledgement of the power of community in an evolving digital world.
