Build Designer Wardrobe on a Budget

Posted on

If you don’t have the funds to be top to toe in designer, then don’t worry. You can add smaller pieces into your wardrobe. Choosing which designers and items might be a little bit tricky, but in the end, taste and style will prevail.

When it comes to designer items, almost anything that you buy will retain it’s value. In some cases, it might be worth more in a few years.

Here are smaller places to add designers without the big price tag.

Sunglasses

Almost all brands will have a range of sunnies. Usually, you’ll find a sleek logo on the arm of the glasses too. These are subtle ways to add a prominent designer to your everyday wear. If you wear glasses as standard, then it is worth investing in a pair of frames from a designer you love. Michael Kors glasses are particularly popular, and Raybans are a classic.

Slippers

For around the home, to feel luxurious, and just because. High-end designers are all about luxury in the everyday, and sometimes over the top for no reason. GUCCI loafers are about as comfortable as you can get, and are also monogrammed to perfection. And Versace slippers are soft, luxurious and start at around $95. Making them a smart investment for your comfort.

Belts

Belts are an everyday item and can make a quick way to tie a whole outfit together. Before deciding on the belt for you, consider the shoes and other accessories that you use the most often. That should give you an indicator of the color that is going to be best. The Fendi belt buckle of the GUCCI GG Supreme is noticeable but not over the top and -easy to wear with trousers or jeans. If you have more to spend, then a Givenchy belt is ideal.

Scent

This is a very personal choice, but a good scent is worth investing in (but you won’t see your investment back on this one!). Some of the most popular are Jimmy Choo Man, Versace Eros, Tom Ford Oud Wood, and Creed Aventus. The great thing about a scent is that a bottle will typically last a long time, and once you find your signature one, you never need to stray.

Wallet

A high-quality wallet will last for years. It goes everywhere with you and stores your ID and cash. So it is better to have something that will last. Designer wallets are made to a high standard in most cases. Montblanc is sleek and sturdy, Saint Laurent has a range of excellent options – but if you want to branch the bank a little, then Balenciaga might just be the way to go.

You can buy smaller items over time and build out your designer stash. Think of every piece as an investment that is going to stand the test of time. Smaller items like belts and socks will get used more often, so you’ll get your money’s worth out of the goods.

“Luxury is the balance of design, in the sense of beauty and highest quality”.
