Burna Boy Journals Feelings On Unfortunate Happenings Of ’20-10-20′

Exactly a week ago today, a myriad of Nigerians who were at the frontlines of peaceful protests taking place in major cities across the country, demanding an end to police brutality in Nigeria became pawns in the hands of treacherous leaders who had been trying to steal wins since the protests kicked off. In what sounds like a heartfelt ode to the chaos that went down that day, Burna Boy, like a good number of his contemporaries have done, took to the studio to journal his feelings over a somber fusion of snares and synthesized keys.

Burna Boy has been instrumental in the championing of social causes so his projection of the grief that has plagued the country for the past week, comes off as tuneful despite its tragic theme.

He asks the questions weighing on everyone’s minds, he points accusatory fingers, he eulogizes our fallen heroes, and most importantly, mirrors our feelings.

The audio was released via his Twitter page so it’s uncertain whether it will get treated to a mixed and mastered version of even a video but Burna’s message is loud and clear on the nameless song which is what matters.
