One month after releasing his first single of the year, —Sittin’ On Top Of The World, Burna Boy is back with another potential hit, Big 7. This is not just another single. Big 7 celebrates Burna Boy’s remarkable career run, highlights in the last couple of years, and builds anticipation for the release of his 7th studio album, I told them.
The album is expected to be released on the 24th of August 2023, exactly one year, one month, and seventeen days after the release of Love, Damini. The song’s title references the mythical symbolism of the number 7, often associated with greatness and perfection. Burna taps into this with the expectation that his seventh studio album will unlock new heights.
Burna Boy opens the first line of the melodic bop by paying homage to his late friend and Louis Vuitton designer, Virgil Abloh. In the next couple of lines, he asserts himself—Burna style—and reminisces on his journey over the years, city to city, and how he’s been “wavy” around the clock.
The music video was directed by Ace visual director Benny Boom, and it featured special appearances by American stars like Busta Rhymes, Junior Mafia, and actor Shameik Moore.
