Texas-based Cameroonian artist, Dr. Okwen, is most passionate about spotlighting his native Moghamo culture through his captivating compositions. With a deep appreciation for his cultural heritage, Dr. Okwen’s goal is to promote the beauty of the Moghamo language and culture through his folk-like music fused with traditionally revered percussions.
‘I want the world to hear the beauty of African language and culture.In the case of my songs, it is a contribution to mankind in Moghamo.’ Dr Okwen says.
His debut single, Nwa Kwa, has accumulated over two million views on YouTube, a testament to Moghamo’s growing influence and sociocultural impact
“I wrote ‘Nwa Kwa’ to celebrate the incredible strength and determination of those who overcome autism,” said Okwen. “I want this song to inspire people to believe in the power of hope and never give up on their dreams, no matter how challenging they may seem.”
