The CANNESERIES festival, whose programme will be totally revealed on Tuesday, March 28th, has just announced that the Apple TV+ series will open its sixth season. SILO was first a literary sensation before being adapted into a series, and the festival can’t wait for this absolutely sensational screening.
Expected to accompany the series and walk the pink carpet is actress and executive producer Rebecca Ferguson, director and executive producer Morten Tyldum, and screenwriter and executive producer Graham Yost.
SILO, based on the novels by Hugh Howey, is the story of the last ten thousand people on earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences. Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.
Apple TV+ unveiled the first impressive images three days ago. The Théâtre Lumière in Cannes will be the setting for this production, which will perfectly highlight the oppressive atmosphere of SILO.
“I can’t wait for the festival audience to discover this series about the absolute necessity of survival in a post-apocalyptic world. Behind the absolutely beautiful end-of-the-world images lies a reflection on resistance and class struggle. I am very proud to present SILO which, both visually and intellectually, raises the series to the highest level.”, Albin Lewi, Artistic Director of CANNESERIES
