World renowned Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie announced her latest book, “Mama’s Sleeping Scarf” in an Instagram post earlier today.
Mama’s Sleeping Scarf will be the first children’s book from the best-selling author and the 11th book of her career which started with her 1997 poetry book, Decisions.
Scheduled for release in September, the book celebrates the joys of everyday life and is based on a day in the life of her daughter. The story is expected to about a little girl’s love for her mother’s scarf, and the adventures she shares with it and her whole family
The celebration of family and what is being billed as a moving story about everyday objects was illustrated by London-based Congolese and Angolan illustrator, Joelle Avelino.
