In recent times, the Nigerian music industry has witnessed the fusion of different genres by artists with different sounds to deliver the best of both worlds. Odunsi (The Engine) and Davido’s Divine served as an appropriate example of what could come of such collaborations. Chinko Ekun, popular for one of 2018’s big hits, Able God and Johnny Drille are two of the more unlikely artists we’d expect a collaboration from but on the former’s just released love ballad, ‘Calling‘, the fusion somewhat makes sense.
Chinko Ekun opens the Big Dre produced piano-driven track with metaphorical lines addressed to his muse after which Johnny Drille swoops in with a heartwarming chorus projected in velvety vocals that fuse well with the former’s rhythmic delivery.
As an unlikely team, the duo do well in projecting a natural bromance which they mirror in the accompanying directed by WalinteenPro.
