Nigerian music label Chocolate City Music best known for incubating and giving a platform to the likes of M.I Abaga, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince and Brymo last night announced the appointment of Abuchi Peter Ugwu as its new CEO. Ugwu who has varied experience within the company steps into this role after more than a decade of working in various capacities in the music industry. Dating back to 2008, where he worked as a producer and sound engineer on a number of Chocolate City projects (Oleku, Nobody Test Me and Africa Rapper number 1) before venturing into artist management in 2012. He became Head of Business Development for the company in 2015. In 2019, he was appointed Vice President for Bean Creative Agency, a Talent and Digital marketing agency based in Lagos. Ugwu steps into the role following on from his predecessor Jude M.I. Abaga who in his time as CEO signed the likes of Ckay, Blaqbonez, Classiq and Yung L.
