Maleek Berry has had quite a decent year though without the usual consistency we have come to expect from him. The Singer-Songwriter-Producer only waxed stronger scoring a potential collaboration with Kanye West in Uganda.
Barely three months after his collaborative effort with Chip, Maleek returns with a double dose of his standard trifecta which is usually made up of self produced, written and performed Records and as usual, both songs are extensions of each other. The only discernible differences are in the soundscapes.
While the Jazzed up Wait is immersed in standard mid tempo instrumentals ranging from mellow but resonant pads and Hi-hats spruced with sonorous Saxophones, the second track Doing U is built on more frenetic instrumentals and distinct in Neo-highlife/Afrobeat vibes.
Both tracks like every other track out of Berry’s Room are similar to one another: much like a never ending EP but they’re easily tunes you can’t get out of your head.
