DAP The Contract And Tim Lyre Synthesize Power On EP Lead Single ‘Sacrifices’

While the world struggled with getting familiar with the new normal in summer 2020, DAP The Contract busied himself with popularizing his prowess on Powers, Vol. 1, an eight-track project that colored his perspective on authority and grit in many ways. It’s been a little over a year since its release and the rapper is ready to let the world in again on a second volume he paces today with Sacrifices.

Joined by Tim Lyre, whose affinity for dance-inspired soundscapes is one of his selling points, DAP The Contract taps into this fondness, and from the very first lick of synths, their cohesion is prominent.

Short but impactful, the self-written and self-produced single is more than a prop for DAP The Contract to stand tall and exude and exert authority. Words like “too much soul, nigga never sold, no I never bargain…”, “…I stay afloat I’m honor roll, I’m never falling“, paint vivid imagery of who and what the rapper thinks he is. Tim Lyre’s soulful delivery of a hook that indeed ties the song together strengthens the single and by extension, DAP’s credence.

With the earlier released Trouble, featuring Famous Bobson and Sacrifices, leading the way to Powers Vol. 2, much is expected from the impending summer release from a rapper who always lives up to expectation.
