Davido Touches on Adversity and Recollects Rejection on ‘Fia’

With releases like IF, Fall and Mama, DMW’s front runners, Davido and Mayorkun have sat atop most rankings for the majority of the year and with recent releases like Che Che and now Fia, they intend on wrapping up the same way they started.

Davido has always been one to make sure the music reflects the troubles he experiences and with Fia, he does as we should expect by now. Coming ahead of Like Dat which was believed to be his next single, he rearranges his schedule to touch on the fallacious suggestions he played a role in the death of friend, Tagbo Umeike. With a chorus that sings “fia burn them” and lines that go “Caroline save your drama” and “hola hola Mr. Olopa, I’m not here to cause wahala” Davido touches on the media treatment received, stories pushed by Caroline Danjuma and what we can deduce were voluntary trips to the Police which were branded as invitations.

On the Fresh produced record which is the third single off OBO’s upcoming album, Davido not only touches on his recent troubles but also vocalizes his thoughts on returnee love interests who shied away from him before the stardom. He recollects the rejection prior to fame and suggests had he been shown love while on the come-up, he’d willingly sacrifice his life today.

Fia packs a punch into the three minutes it spans and it seems like a more detailed writing effort than previous releases.
