We all have different ways of expressing ourselves, for Davina Oriakhi, one of those ways is through her spoken word poetry and music. On her latest track, Silence (Father Have Mercy) which is also the lead single off her upcoming debut LP titled Love to Mortal, Oriakhi investigates the meaning of silence and reveals the troubles she encounters when she is met with silence.
Silence (Father Have Mercy) serves as a return for Oriakhi into the world of singles as she has dominantly released spoken word pieces and featured on the work of other artistes since her Nonso Amadi-produced track titled Content in 2014.
When speaking on her forthcoming project, Love to Mortal, Oriakhi suggested that her eccentricity shall be brought to the fore on as she hopes to fuse Soul, Reggae, R&B, New Jazz, Afrobeat and Hip Hop into heartfelt tracks which touch on life, love and spirituality.
