Love is a central theme in the Afro Pop/ R & B genre and this lies at the core of Deji Abdul’s latest release, Tongolo. Using his controlled vocals over the Bathing Montel production, we hear him request the love of his African woman alongside promises not to use her to play “Nintendo”. Deji Abdul shows his range on the record as he uses three different flows/styles- one a straight up slowly sung performance, another done in a rapping cadence and the final one in a poppy format.
