The 2016 drama 93 Days centred on the 2015 Ebola outbreak in Lagos will make its Netflix debut this month. The film joins the impressive list of blockbuster Nigerian films coming to the streaming platform this month, from The Bling Lagosiansto Up North.
93 Days detailed the sacrifice of staff of the First Consultant Hospital—especially the late Dr Stella Adadoveh—in ensuring the deadly virus didn’t spread throughout Lagos from their encounter with the stubborn American-Liberian diplomat Patrick Sawyer to treating those down with the virus.

The film is directed by Steve Gukas and produced by Bolanle Austen-Peters. 93 Days is regarded as one of the most important Nigerian films of all time for its timely portrayal of one of the more important moments in our history in recent years. The film’s success includes premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) alongside seven other Nigerian film as part of the TIFF city-to-city spotlight on Nollywood. It landed 8 nominations at the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) including Best Director and Best Film.
93 Days starts showing on Netflix from October 18.
