Drill music is one of the fastest rising sub-genres within Nigerian Rap and the wider music industry at large. So much so, we dug into the culture and its origins in September.
For Abuja-based artist, EESKAY, drill is the weapon of choice as he seeks to announce himself in the music industry. The mixtape is titled Drill. Or.Nah with the ‘Nah’ being an acronym for ‘New Afro Hip-hop’. For the cohesive project, he enlists the support of Odumodublvck, Superwozzy, Phaemous, Zilla Oaks; fellow label mate Raham, and UK-based rapper Sli while production comes from Afroselecta, Ucee, Sally Smokes, Jiggystopplaying and UK based Monshybeatz.
From the newcomer comes a decent debut which will definitely raise his profile as the purveyor of the emergent culture.
