Femi Adebayo Marks Directorial Debut on Anticipated Netflix Series “Seven Doors”

Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Femi Adebayo, is set to make his directorial debut in Seven Doors, a series set for release this December on Netflix. Transporting viewers back to 18th and 19th century Nigeria, the limited series explores the intersection of tradition, history, and drama—yielding relatable themes such as love, betrayal, power, kingship, family and redemption.

Seven Doors follows the story of a man who, having been made the new king of his village, is faced with an ancient prophecy that threatens his reign with blood and fury. In the series, Femi Adebayo plays the role of a Yoruba king while Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha is cast as his wife, an Igbo queen. The limited series also stars Kola Ajeyemi , Adebayo Salami, Jide Kosoko, Muyiwa Ademola, Kunle Afod, Fausat Balogun, Olamide Bakare, Afeez Oyetoro, Aisha Lawal, Gabriel Afolayan and Yinka Quadri, among others.

Femi Adebayo is known for the Yoruba epics, King of Thieves and Jagun Jagun, released in 2022 and 2023 respectively under the aegis of his production company, Euphoria360 Media. King of Thieves won the Best Art Director award at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA). Jagun Jagun won the Best Indigenous Language Movie (West Africa) and the Best Costume Design award categories at the 2024 AMVCA, while Femi Adebayo bagged Best Actor in A Supporting Role at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for his performance in the film. Both films are directed by Adebayo Tijani and Tope Adebayo, who re-emerge as co-directors with Femi Adebayo on the anticipated series, Seven Doors.
