It’s no news that Nigerian women operating in the entertainment industry do not get the same attention or opportunity their male counterparts do. It’s the premise Femme Africa was created on in 2018. Since then, through showcases that have featured only women, we’ve seen the limelight shine on young women in Nigerian music. On Sunday 13th October, with the third Femme Africa Showcase, we shall again experience a carefully curated exhibition of some of the most interesting names in Nigerian music right now.
One of the more impressive things Femme has succeeded at doing is giving everyone a chance and never opting to go with the most obvious choices when curating these showcases. Previously giving artists like Tems, Maka, Asikey, Solis, Good Girl LA and Dami Oniru the platform, their third showcase shall host Lady Donli, who is coming off the release of one of the most impressive albums in Nigeria this year, Princess Okoh, Ezi Emela, Tomi Owo and DJ VVada.
