Fitness Friday: 5 Great Smoothie Recipes

Fitness Fridays are back!!

There is honestly nothing like a refreshing smoothie straight after the gym. I’m always keen to try out new recipes but here are five that I would definitely recommend to you:


 

The classic green smoothie:

  • 1 banana, sliced
  • 150g (5 oz) green grapes
  • 1 (200g) tub vanilla yoghurt
  • 1/2 apple, cored and chopped
  • 50g (2 oz) fresh spinach leaves

Mango, coconut and pineapple smoothie:

  • 1 ripe mango, cubed
  • 1 small banana
  • 150ml coconut milk
  • 100g pineapple pieces
  • 100ml orange juice

Blueberry smoothie:

  • 2 frozen bananas, skins removed and cut in chunks
  • 75g (3 oz) blueberries
  • 225ml (8 fl oz) orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Banana smoothie:

  • 2 bananas
  • 225ml (8 fl oz) semi-skimmed milk
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 8 ice cubes

Apple and raspberry smoothie:

  • 1 punnet blueberries
  • 1 punnet raspberries
  • 3 apples – peeled, cored and chopped
  • 100 to 200ml apple juice
  • 2 tablespoons runny honey (or 3 teaspoons caster sugar)
