Governor Fayose stops DSS from Arresting Apostle Johnson Suleiman

Early this morning, Ayodele Fayose, the Governor of Ekiti State, prevented the arrest of Apostle Johnson Suleiman, founder of The Omega Fire Ministries, in Ado-Ekiti.

The pastor who is visiting Ekiti for a crusade was allegedly preaching against Islam in Nigeria. A few days ago, a video circulating social media platforms, showed Apostle Suleiman asking members of his church in Edo State, to ‘kill’ suspected Fulani herdsmen around their church premises.

After a distressed call from the pastor to Fayose, it was learnt that the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) stormed the hotel the pastor was lodged at, in attempt to arrest him. However, they were stopped by the hotel’s security guards.

Shortly after, Governor Fayose was present at the hotel with a rescue team.

Whilst narrating his nightmare to journalists, Apostle Johnson Suileman said, in regards to the video, “These Fulani herdsmen have turned many Christians to orphans and widowers but the time has come to protect ourselves.”

Fayose criticised the DSS for their behaviour, said he expected the security agents to show politeness, “I expected the security operatives to invite him if they have any issue with him instead of arresting him in the dead of the night after a powerful and spirit-filled crusade in my state.

He further said, “This is unacceptable. We are in a democracy and Nigerians should warn the Presidency against putting this country on fire because religion is an emotional thing.
