Gyakie And Omah Lay Complement Each Other On ‘Forever’ Remix

Posted on

A couple of months ago, we witnessed Omah Lay attempt to stretch his influence to North America by way of a 6lack feature on the remix of his breakout hit, Damn. Today, he fishes in his own pond, West Africa by partnering with budding Ghanaian soul-stirrer, Gyakie, whose persona-defining debut EP, Seed is currently receiving massive airplay across the region particularly  because of one of the EP’s standouts, Forever for which she taps Omah Lay for its remix.

For this sweltering rodeo, she retains the song’s original bass punctuated instrumental but ups the tempo and rearranges the ambiance starting with sultry ad-libs delivered by Omah Lay before they completely switch things up with a verse delivered by the latter. He sticks to his character, articulating his feelings using eccentric lyrics that contrast Gyakie’s simplistic lines.

A likely pair, Gyakie and Omah Lay don’t fail to meet our expectations with their simmering chemistry and complementary performance.
