Emerging from Warri, Delta State, music duo Vil Twin is rising to make their mark in the Nigerian Hip-Hop and rap space. Born Christopher Emuveyan and Lee Ofudje, Vil Twin merges diverse influences and life experiences into a genre-defying sound. With their highly anticipated debut EP, Twizzy Shh, scheduled for release this July, the duo stands on the brink of a major breakthrough.
Both born in the new millennium, Christopher and Lee’s creative synergy dates back to their early years on Ovie Palace Road in Effurun in Delta State. Their stage names, Kris Bille and Lee Kidd pay homage to their shared history in a secondary school dance group, highlighting a deep-seated bond that strengthened over time when their paths crossed again at Ozoro Polytechnic, where their mutual passion for music solidified. By 2023, Vil Twin officially formed and cultivated the unique creative chemistry between them.
Vil Twin’s music reflects present emotions and experiences, drawing heavily from contemporary hip-hop and trap influences. While Playboi Carti and Gunna serve as evident touchstones in their sound, Vil Twin infuses a distinct Nigerian flair, resulting in a style that is both familiar and refreshingly original. Chris’ versatility allows him to blend elements from diverse genres seamlessly, while Lee’s dynamic approach ensures each track stands out.
Their breakout hit, Unbreakable, showcased their prowess, and their forthcoming EP, Twizzy Shh, promises to solidify their place in the industry. Produced by Lagos-based Benzer and featuring BiggaX, the EP is set to deliver trippy visuals and a unique sense of style reminiscent of the aesthetic realms of Young Thug and Playboi Carti.
Their potential for mainstream success is undeniable. With aspirations to become household names, Vil Twin looks forward to collaborations that will undoubtedly expand their growing fanbase, and with their career kicking off, Twizzy Shh will signify Vil Twin’s readiness to make an indelible mark on the Nigerian hip-hop scene.
